The St. Francis Walkathon is a Pacelli tradition and a vital for the success of our students.
Each year students and families collect donations from friends, neighbors, and family in the weeks leading up to the Walkathon. These donations play a pivotal role in the success of our school and enriching the overall culture and experience of school life for our students. Funds raised are put to good use and are utilized for things such as science lab equipment, field trip opportunities, building and grounds upkeep, helping with scholarships for students who otherwise would not be able to attend Pacelli, and so much more.
Each week during the month of September students will turn in their donations/pledges and they are tallied as we strive to reach our fundraising goal of $25,000. As a fun bonus classes, as well as individual students, can win prizes for the money they raise!
At the end of the fundraising period the school gathers together and participates in the Walkathon. Small groups walk the neighborhoods surrounding Pacelli and pickup trash they find along the way. St. Francis is the Patron Saint of Ecology and his Feast Day is October 4th. With this Walkathon we support our school, honor St. Francis, and honor God’s earth that we are stewards and caretakers of. The Walkathon is also a great way for students to get together as a whole school to celebrate their fundraising efforts in a way that promotes school spirit, faith, physical fitness, community service.
Our fundraising goal for this year's St. Francis Walkathon is $25,000.
These funds go directly back into the school and to the students to support them in their learning and to improve the quality of school life at Pacelli. No donation is too small and every donation is an important contribution towards our goal.
We encourage all those who are able and feel called to do so to make a donation in support of our 2023 St. Francis Walkathon. You can do so safely and securely by clicking the button below.
